While we're all aghast at their apparent immaturity, one might wonder: are these the same 'young' minds groomed by organizations like AIPAC, which spent a reported $3,467,736 on lobbying in 2023 and even more on direct contributions? Many of these future leaders are already being shaped
by powerful lobbies, their policy beliefs molded before they can even legally buy a beer. Instead of merely shaking our heads at their ill-advised memes, perhaps we should question the pipeline itself. These 'young' Republicans, many just out of college, will soon be the voting members receiving immense campaign contributions. How many will remember their group chat antics versus the policy
positions subtly (or not so subtly) ingrained by well-funded lobby groups? The Hill highlights the symptoms, never the disease. One might almost suspect they prefer it that way.
