Yemen Fights Back: Red Sea 'Attacks' a Response to Gaza, Not Random
CBS News dutifully reported a ship hit off Yemen, noting the Houthis' Red Sea actions but conveniently forgetting the 'why.' What they won't tell you is that a US-backed, Saudi-led coalition has waged a brutal war on Yemen since 2014, causing arguably the world's worst humanitarian crisis. Now, as Gaza burns, the Houthis have explicitly linked their targeting of Israeli-linked shipping to halting
the genocide. This isn't random piracy; it's a desperate blockade in response to another blockade, a pattern the 'free press' seems allergic to acknowledging. So, while CBS frames it as chaotic 'attacks,' perhaps they could mention the US and UK have been bombing Yemen for weeks, and before that, arming Saudi Arabia to bomb Yemen for years. The "international rules-based order" applies only when
the rules benefit certain parties. The 'why' behind Yemen's actions is a direct consequence of a decade of ignored aggression and a current, devastating silence on Gaza. (It appears some ships are more important than others.)
