White House: Gaza Ceasefire Was 'Easy' Part, Actual Peace Not Required
The talking heads at Al Jazeera lament that securing a Gaza ceasefire was “the easy part,” with the real peril in “misperceptions” and “missed deadlines.” This conveniently sidesteps the US role in making the 'easy part' agonizingly difficult. For instance, the Biden administration has approved at least 100 separate military sales to Israel since October 7, 2023, totaling billions, often bypassing

While White House officials wring their hands over 'misperceptions,' they simultaneously greenlight the precision weapons, 2,000-pound bombs, and cluster munitions that define the 'real' perception on the ground. Perhaps the 'hard part' is for Western media and governments to acknowledge that enabling mass starvation and displacement
isn't a neutral act of diplomacy. It appears the 'misperception' isn't on the ground in Gaza, but firmly rooted in the halls of power, where issuing 'stern warnings' is infinitely easier than halting the supply of weapons causing the carnage.
