Wexner Subpoenaed, Epstein Mysteries Remain, Media Yawn
Wexner, the man behind Victoria's Secret, is finally facing a subpoena regarding his long-standing financial and personal relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. This comes years after Epstein’s scandalous arrests and subsequent alleged suicide, yet the larger network of powerful individuals who benefited from or enabled Epstein’s activities largely evade serious scrutiny. The current framing allows
for an isolated individual to be 'investigated,' rather than questioning the societal structures that protect such figures. One might conveniently forget that Wexner effectively handed Epstein complete control over his immense fortune and properties, a level of trust (or complicity) that should invite far more than a polite subpoena ( Independent ). With every new 'revelation' about Epstein, the
media manages to ask some questions, but never quite all the questions, especially about the myriad other wealthy and connected individuals whose names appeared in Epstein's black book and flight logs. It's almost as if the system is designed to prosecute individual bad actors while the systemic rot remains untouched.
