Western Media Discovers Massacres... in Sudan, Not Gaza
When The Telegraph reports on 'bloodied sands' and 'massacres of thousands' in Sudan, the outrage is palpable, belated, but palpable. Yet, over a year into the Gaza onslaught, with over 37,000 Palestinians killed, including 15,000 children, the same Western press often reverts to euphemisms like 'conflict' or 'tragedy' when their geopolitical allies are implicated. Sudan's crisis is conspicuously absent when describing the systematic destruction of Gaza, where UN experts and international human rights organizations have consistently reported atrocities and potential genocide since October 7th, 2023. It's almost as if the moral compass of mainstream media only points definitively towards 'massacre' when the perpetrators aren't receiving billions in U.S.
military aid, much of it approved by politicians fresh off AIPAC donor calls. One must ask, how many 'last warnings' against displacement and starvation in Gaza will pass before the Western press acknowledges its own glaring double standard, or perhaps, updates its satellite imagery to include all human suffering, regardless of whose bombs are dropping?
