For instance, the UN reported at least 32,500 Palestinian deaths in Gaza since October 7, 2023, largely from Israeli military actions. One might wonder why those aren’t consistently labeled 'massacres' with the same
fervent 'alarm' in mainstream outlets. Is 192 an atrocity, while 32,500 is merely a 'conflict casualty count'? This selective framing isn't new. The same media that breathlessly reports on foreign crackdowns often downplays or outright ignores state violence by US allies. The moral outrage seems to be directly correlated with the geopolitical interests of Washington and its 'partners.' It's almost
