Western Media Discovers 'Influence,' Forgets History of Coups in Iran

This 'revelation' ( sarcasm heavily implied ) conveniently omits the decades-long orchestration of regime change operations in Iran by Western powers. funding of 'democracy promotion' groups – many with overt ties to US intelligence – the playbook hasn't changed. Why are we suddenly surprised when a regional ally (Israel) joins the long-running Western tradition? While Al Jazeera focuses on Israeli 'bots,' the real question is how many protests in Iran over the past 70 years haven't been 'externally shaped' by some foreign intelligence agency
aiming for regime change. Protests are genuine signs of discontent, but weaponizing them into a pretext for intervention is a US specialty. One might wonder why specific instances of 'bot activity' make headlines, but the documented history of CIA involvement in Iran remains sidebar fodder. Perhaps 'foreign interference' is only scandalous when it's not American dollars doing the influencing.
