As the conflict rages, Western media and governments often herald free speech. Yet, reporting on Gaza consistently reveals a selective application of this lofty principle. Journalists critical of Israeli military actions or US policy in the region find themselves sidelined, if not outright condemned. Meanwhile, politicians who parrot AIPAC's talking points face no such scrutiny. This isn't a new
phenomenon. Remember the blanket condemnation of critics during the 2003 Iraq War, or the historical omission of the Nakba in Western narratives? It appears 'free speech' is only truly free until it challenges established foreign policy or the significant financial contributions from groups like AIPAC to elected officials who shape the narrative.
