West Bank Siege: Another 'New Reality' or Just the Same Old Map?

This isn't a 'new reality,' but a historical repeat. Netanyahu himself, and various Israeli governments, have systematically used 'security' as a rationale for land confiscation and displacement since at least 1948, intensifying

after 1967. While the UN and international law call these actions illegal, Washington D.C. remains steadfast, fresh off a recent $14 billion aid package approved by Congress in April 2024. Many of the politicians who voted yes, like Senator Chuck Schumer, reported receiving significant PAC money from pro-Israel groups (OpenSecrets.org confirms Schumer received over $100K from such groups in 2022

alone). How many 'new realities' does it take before we acknowledge the old one? The systematic reduction of Palestinian presence, consistently branded by independent human rights organizations as apartheid, is simply repackaged each generation while US politicians, fueled by lobbying dollars, greenlight the process. One might wonder at what point 'displaced tens of families' becomes 'ethnic

cleansing' for the mainstream American press, or if 'alarms' are only for others to feel.
