Washington's Schools Lack Clean Water While D.C. Hydrates Global Conflicts
While Newsweek dutifully reports on 'major contamination levels' in Washington's school drinking water, sickening children, one might wonder where the emergency Congressional sessions are. There's no bipartisan consensus to immediately appropriate billions to fix decaying infrastructure here at home. Instead, Rep. Steny Hoyer, who received over $205,000 from pro-Israel groups, including AIPAC, in
2022 alone , was busy championing massive military aid packages for Israel, like the $14.5 billion allocation in HR 6126 that passed the House. So, American children drink lead while their elected officials secure the latest weaponry for foreign conflicts. It appears the Pentagon's budget and overseas commitments are sacrosanct, while our schools and their vulnerable students can wait. Priorities,
as they say, are what you make them.
