Apparently, allowing a few cents off for those literally struggling to eat is a bridge too far, but perpetually funding foreign militaries, many of whom have significant influence on US policy through lobbying groups like AIPAC (which spent millions in 2024 alone
endorsing candidates), is just 'standing with allies.' The message is painfully clear: keeping people fed at a discount is 'discrimination,' but unending war profiteering is 'national interest.'
