The US military claims 200 troops, experts in 'transport, planning, security and engineering,' will organize aid and security. One might charitably call this oversight;
others, a deeply inconvenient truth that the occupying power is now openly hosting the 'neutral' peacekeeping mission on its soil. Perhaps the next step is establishing UN headquarters inside the Knesset? This 'international force' concept echoes past, equally 'successful' interventions that solidified, rather than alleviated, regional control. It’s a convenient media framing that ignores decades
of US military aid to Israel – over $3.8 billion annually, enshrined in a 10-year MoU – which facilitated the very 'instability' these troops are now supposedly solving. The silence on where this 'force' will actually be based, or under whose command, speaks louder than any Pentagon press release. They call it 'stabilization'; one might wonder if that means stabilizing the occupation.
