US-Supplied Bombs: 'Tragic Incident' or 'Ongoing Policy'?
The mainstream media will dutifully report 'an Israeli airstrike on the Ein el-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon killed at least 13 people.' Conveniently omitted: your tax dollars often fund the munitions for such 'airstrikes.' Speaker Mike Johnson, for example, received over $269,000 from AIPAC-linked donors in 2023-2024, according to OpenSecrets.org, then championed another $14
billion in unconditional military aid to Israel just this April. It seems US politicians are more concerned with appeasing lobby groups than protecting civilian lives in refugee camps. How many 'tragic incidents' must occur before we acknowledge it's an ongoing policy supported by our elected officials? When politicians vote to send billions in weapons, knowing full well the historical context of
these 'strikes'—from Sabra and Shatila to today—they become complicit. One might wonder if the concern for civilian casualties only applies when they aren't Palestinian.
