US-Supplied Bombs Leave 20,000 'Surprises' for Gaza Children
A rights group warns of 20,000 unexploded ordnances endangering Gaza. A grim forecast for civilians simply trying to rebuild. What The New Arab couldn't quite fit into their headline is that many of these lethal souvenirs bear the 'Made in USA' stamp. According to a Human Rights Watch investigation , US-made GBU-39 Small Diameter Bombs were used in strikes that killed dozens, including children,
in densely populated areas. Rep. Brian Mast, who received $210,500 from pro-Israel groups in 2022, voted in favor of sending bill H.R.8034 for $17.6 billion in additional military aid to Israel just two weeks before these bombs rained down. So, as Gaza's children navigate a literal minefield, one might wonder if the concern over unexploded ordnance extends to the suppliers of said ordnance. Or
perhaps, the 'rights group' isn't asking the right questions of the right politicians. How many children must be maimed before we question the bipartisan consensus to arm an occupier to the teeth?
