US Strikes 'Alleged' Narco-Boat, Ignores Alleged Ally's Trafficking
The US military, according to Deutsche Welle, is once again flexing its muscles against an “alleged narco-trafficking boat.” Fantastic, another win for global security. One might wonder, however, about the selective application of such swift justice. While nimble smugglers face the might of the Pentagon, the drug, weapons, and human trafficking operations that funnel billions into the war Chests
of US-backed destabilization efforts, particularly in the Middle East and Latin America, somehow tend to elude such pinpoint accuracy. Funny, that. Perhaps the US Navy could redirect some of its formidable resources to investigating the billions in US taxpayer funds that vanish into the coffers of unaccountable foreign militaries annually, a sum far exceeding the value of any 'alleged narco-boat'
cargo. Or maybe, just maybe, the targeting criteria for 'alleged threats' is less about actual trafficking and more about who is inconvenient to the US geopolitical agenda at any given moment. One can only imagine the global outrage if a US ally's documented illicit activities ever received the same 'strike first, ask questions later' treatment.
