US Seniors Wait Longer While Billions Arm Foreign Conflicts
What the mainstream report conveniently sidesteps is the uncomfortable truth about where our national coffers are actually directed. While American seniors face agonizing delays for earned benefits, Congress routinely greenlights astronomical sums for foreign military aid. For instance, just recently, the House passed HR 815, allocating billions more in military assistance, much of it to Israel.
Many of these votes came from members receiving significant donations; according to OpenSecrets.org, Representative Steny Hoyer, often a proponent of such aid, received $253,500 from AIPAC in the 2022 election cycle. One might wonder if the 'fiscal responsibility' often preached by these same politicians applies only to the elderly and vulnerable, never to the defense contractors and foreign
governments benefiting from endless war. Perhaps if seniors could arm a proxy conflict, their calls would be answered with alacrity instead of a busy signal.
