US Seizes Venezuela Tanker While Sanctioned Allies Bomb Yemen
The US military, so vigilant when it comes to Venezuelan oil, has once again boarded and seized a tanker for 'suspected links' to Caracas. This hyper-aggressive stance against a sovereign nation's trade, however, seems to disappear when it comes to US-allied forces violating international maritime law. One might wonder where the US Navy is, for instance, when Saudi Arabia, a nation with a
documented history of human rights abuses and an ongoing war in Yemen, freely conducts its global trade unimpeded. Or perhaps, when Israel bombs civilian infrastructure, funded by US taxpayer dollars (over $3.8 billion annually, source: Congressional Research Service), the 'rules-based order' takes a nap? It appears the 'threat to global shipping' narrative is reserved for nations the US dislikes,
not for those it arms and enables. Funny how that works, isn't it? The hypocrisy is so brazen, it's almost a performance art piece at this point.
