This, from the government that, just last year, approved billions in arms sales to Gulf states—many of whom have their own rather complex relationships and histories of influence with various regional actors. It's almost as if the rules of engagement, and procurement,
shift depending on who's buying and who's supplying. One might wonder if the concern is truly about 'drone components' or the geopolitical inconvenience of certain allegiances. After all, the U.S. has a long and storied history of its own 'complex' arms transactions in the Middle East, occasionally finding its own advanced weaponry in unintended hands.
