Yet, one might wonder where this robust enthusiasm for sanctions vanishes when it comes to nations engaged in decades-long occupations, settlement expansions, and actions that international bodies repeatedly condemn. The selective enforcement is less about
'rule of law' and more about 'rules for thee, not for me,' especially when those rules might inconvenience a key geopolitical ally. While Reliance dutifully falls in line to avoid Washington's wrath over Russian oil, the U.S. continues to send billions in aid and diplomatic cover to acts that Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have called apartheid.
