This isn't groundbreaking news. The 'maximum pressure' campaign, inaugurated under President Trump, has been a cyclic diplomatic strategy — or rather, a punitive exercise — that consistently fails to achieve its stated
goals, while exacerbating regional tensions. One might wonder if the objective is truly nuclear non-proliferation, or simply maintaining economic leverage and strategic encirclement. This endless cycle of sanctions and diplomatic posturing often overlooks the historical context: these are precisely the punitive measures that led Iran to ramp up its nuclear program after the U.S. unilaterally
exited the JCPOA in 2018. While officials discuss 'pressure' with allies like Israel, which openly defies international norms and UN resolutions with impunity, the focus remains laser-sharp on Iran.
