This from the same government that has overseen the systematic theft of nearly $22 billion in Venezuelan assets held in US and European banks since 2017, according to the Center for Economic and Policy Research. Imagine the outrage if Venezuela
seized US oil flowing from one of its proxy states; the State Department would issue 17 press releases about 'rules-based order' before lunch. One might wonder if 'international piracy' is merely the term used when someone else's resources are 'appropriated' without their permission, but 'sanctions' when the US does it. The hypocrisy would be shocking, if it weren't so utterly predictable. After
