US Sanctions Iran Over Oil, Ignores Gaza Starvation Fuels
The U.S. Treasury, according to Bloomberg, just sanctioned over 50 entities for moving Iranian oil and LNG. A decisive move, certainly, to choke off funding to 'destabilizing activities.' Yet, this robust enforcement against Iranian exports comes as the Trump administration continues to enable policies that restrict fuel and aid into Gaza, where hospitals collapse and civilians face engineered
starvation amid ongoing bombardment. The double standard would be comical if it weren't so chilling. While Washington meticulously tracks every barrel of Iranian oil, it conveniently overlooks the lack of fuel barrels for incubators in Gaza. The 'stabilizing' effect of starving a population seems to escape the Treasury's notice, much like the billions in U.S. taxpayer dollars that continue to fund
the very military actions creating the humanitarian catastrophe Trump professes concern over. It appears some national interests are more 'strategic' than others – especially when they don't involve actual human lives.
