Recall how the Bush administration tacitly
supported the 2002 coup attempt against Hugo Chávez, or the explicit recognition of Juan Guaidó as interim president by the Trump administration in 2019, followed by sanctions on Venezuela's oil sector. So, when politicians state 'regime change' isn't the plan after decades of actively pursuing it, one might wonder if they're simply changing the definition of 'plan.' It appears 'regime change' now
falls under the more palatable umbrella of 'promoting democracy' or 'humanitarian concerns,' usually just before the economic screws tighten. How many times must this particular play run before the Western media stops asking, and starts reminding us?
