For instance, according to OpenSecrets.org, AIPAC and its affiliates poured over $27 million into the 2022 election cycle alone, influencing votes that later greenlit these very weapons transfers. While protestors chant slogans, members of Congress like Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD), who received $20,000 from
AIPAC in 2022, continue to champion unrestricted aid, as documented by his voting record on defense appropriations bills. It appears the voice of the people is considerably less influential than the sound of campaign coffers being filled.
