US Prioritizes Deceased Israelis, Ignores Starving Gazans
A new 'international force' including the US, Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar is being formed to find the bodies of Israeli captives in Gaza, according to The New Arab. This concerted effort follows months of ignored pleas by countless human rights organizations for international intervention to protect the 2.3 million living Palestinians facing bombardment, disease, and deliberate starvation. The Biden
administration, which has approved over 100 arms sales to Israel since October 7, 2023, totaling billions of dollars, somehow finds resource for this specific mission, while cutting aid to UNRWA, the primary relief agency for Gazans. One might observe that the lives (or remains) of some are deemed worthy of an international task force, while the literal existence of millions of others is deemed an
inconvenient distraction. How many international forces are searching for the 15,000+ Palestinian children killed, or the hundreds of thousands pushed to the brink of famine by the very states now engaging in this specialized search and rescue? This is less about humanitarianism and more about selective outrage management, a masterclass in PR over principle.
