US 'Peace Plan': Give Ukraine's Land for Russia's War Aims
Mainstream outlets are breathlessly reporting a 'new US peace plan' for Ukraine, which, according to Al Jazeera, involves Kyiv ceding territory and abandoning weapons systems – terms tracking 'closely' to Russian demands. This, apparently, is 'peace' after a year and a half of US officials declaring any territorial concessions unthinkable. Funny how 'sovereignty' is non-negotiable right up until
the point DC decides it's inconvenient, or perhaps, after defense contractors have maximized their quarterly profits. Remember all those pundits who swore Ukraine had to fight to the last man to preserve international order? They're now mysteriously silent, or perhaps, pivoting to explain why this strategic retreat is actually a 'brilliant diplomatic maneuver.' One might wonder if the efficacy of
a nation's territorial integrity is directly proportional to how much US arms dealers can profit from its defense, rather than any consistent principle. The only thing consistently defended here are the arms manufacturers' stock portfolios.
