US Officials Shocked by Ceasefire Violations, Again
The New Arab reports Israel's continued deadly attacks in Gaza, framing them as 'grave violations' of a ceasefire. One wonders how many times the US and its media allies need to witness this script play out before they grasp the plot: Israel has a documented history of disregarding such agreements. From the 2008-2009 Operation Cast Lead, where a ceasefire was broken days before the invasion, to
various subsequent 'pauses,' the pattern is less a violation and more a consistent operational strategy. While officials express 'concern,' the cash register keeps ringing. Notably, Rep. Brian Mast, who vocally supports Israel's actions, received over $200,000 from pro-Israel PACs, including $88,000 from AIPAC in the 2022 election cycle alone (OpenSecrets.org). His voting record consistently
aligns with increased military aid to Israel. It seems 'grave violations' are only grave enough for words, not for an actual halt in the funding that enables them. How many times will we be asked to suspend disbelief?
