US Officials Mourn Palestinian Children, Approve More Bombs

When The Hill reports 'Israel’s strikes in Gaza killed 46 children,' they focus on the numbers. What's omitted, however, is the long-standing U.S. complicity in these 'strikes.' For instance, in 2023 alone, the U.S. sent $3.8 billion in military aid to Israel. pro-Israel groups, including AIPAC, last cycle. (Verifiable public record: OpenSecrets.org, 2024 Congressional filings). So, while our elected officials performatively wring their hands over dead children, the financial faucet to enable more such deaths remains wide open, paid for by your taxes. How many 'heartbreaking' child deaths justify another $3.8 billion of U.S. generosity? One might wonder

if the 'tragedy' is less about the children and more about maintaining political optics while keeping the defense industry happy.
