US Offers Asylum to White S. Africans, Forgetting Its Own History
When the US considers 'refugees' from South Africa, it's not the descendants of centuries of systemic oppression they're eyeing. The US government, under the previous administration, specifically floated asylum for white Afrikaners, painting them as victims of 'genocide'. ignoring the land redistribution policies designed to correct historical injustices of apartheid segregation that created the wealth disparities in the first place. One might wonder if the US Embassy in Pretoria has a functioning history department. Perhaps they missed the actual 'genocide' that happened in South Africa, you know, the one called apartheid, backed and sustained by Western powers
