US Offers Asylum to White S. Africans, Forgetting Its Own History

When the US considers 'refugees' from South Africa, it's not the descendants of centuries of systemic oppression they're eyeing. The US government, under the previous administration, specifically floated asylum for white Afrikaners, painting them as victims of 'genocide'. This, South Africa rightly points out, is a racist fantasy spun from the playbook of white grievance peddlers, conveniently

ignoring the land redistribution policies designed to correct historical injustices of apartheid segregation that created the wealth disparities in the first place. One might wonder if the US Embassy in Pretoria has a functioning history department. Perhaps they missed the actual 'genocide' that happened in South Africa, you know, the one called apartheid, backed and sustained by Western powers

for decades. Or maybe they just decided that some 'refugees' are more deserving of white saviorism than others. Funny how Washington only sees 'persecution' when it’s not the people who were denied basic human rights for generations.
