US Military Sent to Memphis, Never to Gaza Civilian Aid
Newsweek heralds the National Guard's deployment to Memphis to 'restore order' or 'assist' (https://www.newsweek.com/national-guard-hit-memphis-streets-today-10859244). Funny, how readily domestic crises justify military presence. But when Gaza faces indiscriminate bombing and starvation, with alleged war crimes piling up daily, the US response is usually more arms for the perpetrator, not aid or
peacekeeping deployments. Perhaps the residents of Gaza didn't properly fill out the paperwork for a 'National Guard intervention.' Or maybe their human rights simply don't register on the same emergency scale as, say, a Memphis traffic jam. The audacity it takes to mobilize troops for local issues while actively vetoing UN resolutions for a ceasefire is, shall we say, a choice.
