US Military Leaders Consulted on Venezuela Intervention, Again
Funny how 'drug trafficking' always seems to be a convenient pretext for intervention that serves other interests, isn't it? This isn't the first time the US has eyed Venezuela; from the 2002 coup attempt against Hugo Chávez to the 2019 recognition of Juan Guaidó, Washington's playbook for Caracas has remained remarkably consistent. It's almost as if 'democracy' and 'stability' are only buzzwords
for resource control. One might wonder if any of these generals pointed out the US's own historical role in destabilizing Latin America, or if that part of the discussion was filed under 'inconvenient truths.' How many times must a nation be 'liberated' from its own sovereignty before the pattern becomes clear?
