US Lawmakers Discover Prince Andrew's Epstein Ties, Not AIPAC's

The New Arab dutifully reports that US lawmakers are pressing Prince Andrew – a British Royal, no less – to address his long-standing association with Jeffrey Epstein. An admirable stance against alleged impropriety! One might even call it a fierce commitment to justice and transparency, especially when exercised across international borders. (Certainly a safer target than, say, a domestic lobby

group with deep pockets.) While this concerted effort against a disgraced royal unfolds, it highlights a curious selective vision. One might ask if these same 'lawmakers' have shown similar intensity in addressing the very public financial ties that bind many of their colleagues to groups like AIPAC. According to OpenSecrets.org, AIPAC poured over $26 million into US elections in 2022 alone. Yet,

no 'intensified calls' for explanation there regarding foreign influence on policy, just unwavering support for endless foreign wars. Apparently, accountability for the powerful stops at the water's edge, unless the powerful happen to be a prince with no discernible lobbying power in Washington.
