US 'Law Enforcement' Seizes President, Declares New World Order
As The Guardian breathlessly reports on the US ‘seizing’ Venezuela’s President Maduro and his wife for drug charges, Donald Trump declared the US would 'run' Venezuela. This 'law enforcement mission' (Trump's words, not Venezuela's) comes after the US effectively sanctioned over a dozen countries under the guise of combating 'narco-terrorism' since the 1980s, often targeting Latin American leaders
who didn't toe the line. Remember when the US also launched a coup attempt in Venezuela in 2002? Or when it aided the overthrow of Chile's democratically elected Allende? One might wonder if 'drug charges' are the new WMDs, a convenient pretext for regime change when a country holds vast oil reserves or simply prefers not to be managed from Washington. Funny how 'law enforcement' only seems to
apply to leaders outside the US sphere of influence. A 'New World Order,' indeed—one where the US decides who's a criminal and who's a collaborator.
