US Labels Lebanese Group 'Terrorist' While Funding Far Worse

While the US State Department now brandishes its harshest terror tag at a Lebanese political group (The Islamic Group, according to The New Arab), it simultaneously greenlights billions in aid to regimes actively involved in humanitarian catastrophes. This selective outrage would be comical if it weren't so tragic. We're talking about a nation that just approved sending another $14 billion in

military aid to Israel (as per H.R. 815, passed in April 2024), a government currently under investigation by the ICJ for genocide in Gaza. One might ask: how many 'terrorist' designations does it take for the US to look in the mirror? Perhaps the real terror isn't always sporting the convenient label provided by Washington. It seems 'terrorism' is merely what inconveniences US foreign policy (or

its preferred regional allies), while wholesale destruction funded by US taxpayers is just 'national security interests.'
