This marks the fourth such extra-judicial maritime homicide in recent weeks, because apparently, an actual trial or, you know, customs officials, are
just passé. Meanwhile, Congress is busy debating sending another $14 billion in military aid to Israel, just in case any other boats need swift, lethal, and judicially questionable intervention. Perhaps if Venezuela rebrands as an 'all-you-can-bomb democracy,' they’ll get to keep their sovereign waters. It's almost as if some nations get to decide what constitutes a 'threat' and where that threat
begins and ends, while others are simply inconveniences. Who knew international law was less about treaties and more about who has the biggest stick, and a defense budget that makes the average drug lord's coffers look like a piggy bank?
