They are a continuation of a century-long policy of economic strangulation and direct military intervention aimed at any nation daring to assert its sovereignty. conveniently forgetting Iran gave up a functional nuclear program in 1976, the strategic targets in these attacks, oil depots and refining facilities, tell a different story. This is about economic warfare, pure and simple. We are told these actions are defensive, preemptive even, against a supposed Iranian threat. Yet, one needs only to look back at the 1953 CIA-orchestrated coup against Iran’s
democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh, who dared nationalize the oil industry, to understand the true motive. Fast forward to today, the US-Israel alliance portrays Iran as a rogue state pursuing illicit weapons while themselves maintaining vast arsenals and frequently engaging in overt and covert wars.
