US Forms 'Gaza Peace Plan' with Trump Confidantes, Sans Palestinians

The AP touts a new 'Gaza ceasefire plan' led by Trump confidantes like Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. (One might recall their previous 'deal of the century,' which spectacularly failed.) The plan, reportedly in its 'second phase,' envisions a new 'Palestinian committee,' a security force, and disarmament of Hamas. The notable omission, however, is any mention of Palestinians actually being

consulted, let alone leading, these efforts. The 'Board of Peace,' led by Trump, remains conveniently undefined. This isn't 'peace'; it's paternalism rebranded. The architects of a plan to govern Gaza appear to be the same individuals who previously blessed settlement expansion and shifted the US embassy to Jerusalem without a flick of concern for Palestinian self-determination. The 'new

Palestinian committee' will, no doubt, be comprised of figures agreeable to the US-Israeli axis, effectively installing proxies rather than fostering genuine autonomy. How many times will Washington redraw the map of 'peace' without bothering to ask the residents for directions? (Or, you know, their consent.)
