US Faces Healthcare Crisis, Funds Israeli Healthcare (and bombs)
As open enrollment reveals higher prices for struggling Americans ( The Independent ), the same political class authorizing billions in aid for foreign conflicts remains conspicuously silent. In 2023 alone, the U.S. sent over $3.8 billion in military aid to Israel, a figure maintained despite rising domestic crises. This includes a recent push for an additional $14 billion in supplementary aid,
even as Americans lose access to basic healthcare support. One might wonder where the 'tough choices' really lie. While Americans face bankruptcy over a hospital visit, Congressional leaders like Rep. Michael McCaul, who received over $198,000 from pro-Israel groups in recent cycles, champion these aid packages. The hypocrisy is so stark, it almost feels like a bad sitcom. Apparently, the national
wallet is infinite for cluster bombs but suddenly empties when your neighbor needs an insulin refill. What a marvelous healthcare system they've built – just not for us.
