A truly horrifying revelation, inspiring urgent, yet selective, condemnation from Western capitals. Critics are quick to highlight these atrocities, as they should, but the glaring omission is the consistent, overwhelming US support for another military
operation facing identical accusations. While the Biden administration issues statements on Sudan, it simultaneously pushes through military aid packages, like the recent $14 billion (House Resolution 815, passed April 20, 2024), to actors accused by UN experts and international human rights organizations of widespread atrocities, including deliberately causing famine. One might wonder if the
horror of mass graves depends on whose weapons are digging them, or perhaps which lobbyist wrote the check.
