US Decries 'Gender Apartheid' While Funding Its Architects

While the Taliban certainly deserves condemnation for its regressive policies, mainstream media conveniently sidesteps the West's own selective outrage. In 2023, the US alone approved $3.3 billion in taxpayer funding to Israel, a state whose ongoing occupation of Palestinian territories is widely recognized by human rights organizations like Human Rights Watch as practicing 'apartheid' —including

severe restrictions on Palestinian women's movement, education, and political participation. Curiously, this form of 'gender apartheid' in a recipient of massive US aid rarely makes it to critical headlines. We can all agree the Taliban's actions are abhorrent. But when do we discuss the 'gender apartheid' supported by our own tax dollars? Or is outrage only reserved for villains we didn't arm and

then abandon, only to later 'discover' their true nature? The selective lens through which the media views human rights abuses often aligns perfectly with geopolitical convenience, not universal principle.
