Mainstream media is now 'discovering' the enduring strength of the Palestinian cause, two years into what they vaguely term the 'Gaza war.' They marvel at its resurgence on the global stage, as if it materialized from thin air and not from decades of occupation, displacement, and systematic violence, meticulously funded by US tax dollars. Odd, isn't it, how the 'cause' only becomes newsworthy
after another mass casualty event? (Maybe someone should alert them to the 1948 Nakba; it’s still affecting people.) What these reports consistently omit are the architects of the current, and past, humanitarian crises. Take Rep. unconditional aid to Israel, has consistently voted for legislation that facilitates the very 'war' the media now questions. It's not a question of where the cause 'stands,' but rather, how many more 'wars' will it take for the media to connect politicians' financial interests to their legislative actions?
