US Conflicted: Alleged Hamas Executions vs. Its Own Record
Admiral Brad Cooper called on Hamas to 'stop executing suspected Israel collaborators,' just hours after former President Trump appeared to defend Hamas's actions, calling them 'tough.' The State Department then chimed in with their 'concerns.' One might wonder if their historical memory is as porous as their moral compass. The US government, after all, once backed despots whose human rights
records were written in blood, and its own military actions have often generated 'suspected collaborators' through sheer destruction. This isn't about Hamas; it's about the ever-shifting narrative. When the US or its allies execute alleged enemies, it’s 'counter-terrorism.' When an adversary does it, it's a 'barbaric execution.' The hypocrisy is so thick you could cut it with a drone blade.
Perhaps the US should start by condemning all extrajudicial killings, regardless of who is pulling the trigger, or whose interests are being served. But then, who would fund the endless wars?
