humanitarian crisis. The Independent frames this as a plausible solution for Ukraine, yet conveniently overlooks how this same US power is deployed to enable, rather than deter, military actions in other regions. It seems the US has the will to make certain actors 'serious,' but only when it aligns with specific geopolitical interests, or perhaps, when certain lobbying groups aren’t involved.

Imagine if the same pressure and funding accountability applied to all conflicts enabled by US foreign policy.
