Conflating legitimate internal dissent with
state-sponsored terrorism serves multiple agendas—it allows the Iranian government to dismiss all protests and simultaneously permits Western media to frame any dissent as foreign interference, paving the way for more sanctions or even military 'intervention.' The same playbook that demonized Gaddafi and Assad transforms legitimate opposition into foreign assets when it suits a geopolitical
narrative. Remember when the US backed 'freedom fighters' in Afghanistan against the Soviets? Now, any Iranian dissenter is an 'asset.'
