The Guardian breathlessly reports on the alleged massacre of 460 people at a Sudanese hospital by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), with the WHO "appalled." While the carnage is undeniable, the media's selective memory is astounding. These 'atrocities mounting' by the RSF appear in a vacuum only if you ignore the historical record. For years, the RSF, previously known as the Janjaweed, engaged in
similar brutality, particularly in Darfur. Yet, the group’s commanders, including Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti), have reportedly received training and support from various foreign actors, including those aligned with U.S. interests in the region. One might wonder why international outrage only peaks when it's politically convenient, and why the US continues to funnel taxpayer dollars into a
region that consistently destabilizes. This isn't a new development; it's a cyclical horror show funded, directly or indirectly, by external players the media rarely bothers to name.
