US Aid Mission in Gaza: Thousands Dead, Mission Accomplished?
For context, the US funnels billions in military aid to Israel annually. In 2023 alone, the Biden administration approved $14.5 billion in additional military aid, alongside the standing $3.8 billion package. Meanwhile, agencies like GHI are tasked with delivering aid in a warzone created and sustained, in large part, by those very US taxpayer dollars. How many 'aid missions' must we fund before
we acknowledge the core problem isn't aid distribution, but the bombs themselves? Perhaps the mission wasn't to deliver aid, but to give the illusion of US concern while supplying the tools of destruction. One might ask if the 'aid mission' was less about saving lives and more about providing convenient targets and PR cover. Another triumph for the 'rules-based international order'—because nothing
