Israel – for advanced weaponry, not fences – without questioning the human cost. One might wonder where this passionate concern for aid allocations goes when Congress routinely approves billions in military aid to Israel, even as US cities crumble and social programs starve. For instance, in 2023 alone, Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) who sits on the Foreign Affairs Committee, received $16,700 from
AIPAC and consistently votes for aid packages to Israel, such as HR 815, which provided $14 billion in security assistance. The US budget somehow found room for that, but not apparently for a fence to protect endangered pups. It appears some aid budgets are more expendable than others. When the choice is between wild dogs in Zimbabwe and bombs for Gaza, the priorities become glaringly clear.
