UN Unveils 60-Day Aid Plan After Genocide, Not During
The UN's Tom Fletcher proudly declared, "Our plan, detailed and tested, is in place," along with "170,000 metric tons" of supplies, all waiting. This is excellent news, provided the residents of Gaza can hold out until the 'once upon a time' of a ceasefire. One might wonder if these meticulous plans for post-war aid have an equivalent 'detailed and tested' plan for, say, preventing the war crimes
that necessitate said aid, or perhaps for bypassing the sieges that have rendered this aid hoard irrelevant for months. It appears the global community is well-practiced in delivering eulogies and emergency rations *after* the fact, rather than enforcing the international law designed to prevent the fact. While the world debates the semantics of 'humanitarian pause' versus 'ceasefire,' children
starve today. But hey, good to know there's a PowerPoint for the next 60 days of relief, should the bombs ever stop for longer than a lunch break.
