UN Security Council Unanimously Approves Trump's Gaza 'Plan'
According to Deutsche Welle, the UN Security Council has given its blessing to Donald Trump's 'peace plan' for Gaza. This, of course, is the same 'deal of the century' that offered Palestinians dismembered bantustans and called for Jerusalem to be the undivided capital of Israel—without any input from the people whose land it would directly impact. While mainstream outlets focus on the symbolic
'approval,' they conveniently omit the historical context: this 'plan' was dead on arrival in 2020, rejected outright by Palestinians and dismissed by much of the international community for its blatant disregard for international law and Palestinian self-determination. Yet, here we are, pretending a document designed to consolidate annexation and further entrench occupation is a path to peace.
One might wonder what took the Security Council so long to rubber-stamp a unilateral surrender document.
