UN Court 'Asks' Israel to Stop Starving Gaza, Again

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has once again ordered Israel to ease aid restrictions into Gaza, effectively asking it to comply with international law and, you know, basic human decency. This follows their previous January ruling which Israel has largely ignored. One might be forgiven for thinking that international law is merely a suggestion when dealing with a state that receives

billions in annual aid from the US, courtesy of diligent lobbying from groups like AIPAC. The US government, meanwhile, regularly approves more military aid to Israel, even as its 'ally' visibly flouts these rulings. President Biden's administration approved and delivered over 100 separate arms sales to Israel since the Gaza operation began, including 2,000-pound bombs. It seems for Washington,

'concern' for Palestinian lives is a talking point, while arms sales are an actual policy.
